Kantha Stitched Clutch

Kantha began as a way of giving worn saris a second life, quilting layers of soft cotton with rows of running stitch. This clutch carries that same rippled, hand-quilted surface, gently puckered under the fingers. The stitching is both the structure and the decoration. Each piece varies in thread colour and rhythm, because each pair of hands does.
