Reversible Kantha Quilted Jacket

Birbhum district, West Bengal

Kantha began as a way to give old saris a second life, layering worn cotton and stitching it into something warm. This jacket keeps to that logic: two printed cotton faces, quilted through by hand, wearable on either side. Because the cloth is repurposed, each jacket's colours differ, and the fabric is already soft from years of use.

The hands
Repurposed cotton saris are layered and stitched right through by hand, so both faces of the jacket are finished cloth.

Buying handmade keeps a craft in work. That is the whole model — no middle story.
