The undercoat of the Changthangi goat, combed out each spring in Ladakh, spun by hand and woven plain on a wooden loom. This shawl is left in the fleece's own colour — an off-white that has never met dye. It is light enough to forget you are wearing it, and warm in the way only hand-spun pashmina is, because the loose twist traps air.
