Sozni Paisley Pashmina Shawl

A handwoven pashmina shawl carrying sozni embroidery along its borders — rows of paisley, the old Kashmiri buta, worked in fine silk thread. The stitches sit almost flat, so the cloth keeps its softness and drape. Turn it over and the back is nearly as neat as the front, which is how sozni work has always been judged.
