Trip to Jodhpur :World Sacred Spirit Festival

It’s been a month and a half, and I am still humming those tunes. It was as if a small world of soulful spiritual living, I lived all of it in two and a half days.

My feet still recalls and starts tapping in that same rhythm, the rhythm of drums, dhol, tabla.

And those evening lights and the magnificient fort Mehrangarh, Rajasthan. The splendid view of the entire Jodhpur city covered in blue color and those weird and funny yet believable stories about why Jodhpur is blue. The chirping of birds and a nature walk in Rao Jodha park. There is so much to share and so little space!

This was an experience though that can’t be explained and expressed in words. Feeling that is so close to my heart. It changed the way I look at things at so many different levels. Oh! just so beautiful!

What was World Sacred Spirit Festival?

World Sacred Spirit Festival: Sufi and other artists from India and across the globe were invited to showcase their most sacred traditions at Nagaur and Jodhpur, in Rajasthan. There were performances happening one after the another. From morning 7:00am to night 11:30pm and more!

Indian musicians collaborated with people all over the globe and I witnessed some of the best music possible. The events took place in Mehrangarh Fort and Jaswant Thada Memorial in Jodhpur and also in Nagaur.

The festival has artists coming from Iran, Egypt, China, Mongolia, Pakistan, India, and many more places. This spiritual festival took me to a journey of soulful music and it bought me so close to myself.
